Information. The LTS Mission.

Welcome to the Laboratory for Telecommunication Sciences (LTS), a premier research and engineering laboratory located on the campus of the University of Maryland in College Park. Nestled within this academic venue, the LTS cultivates a collaborative environment and partners with academia, industry, other government laboratories, and organizations to conduct advanced networking and computing research. The LTS initiates technical research projects to prototype and explore the implications of new communications domains. Research here is a fluid process, often involving diverse fields such as engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, biology, sociology, psychology, and political science. Project emphasis rapidly changes to address new discoveries in both the communications disciplines and the current technical environment. Our goal at the LTS is to ensure that our research enhances real world problems of our partners. As such, we focus on unique and innovative solutions to some of the world's most challenging problems.
